Career Speakers - Washburn High School

We're looking for volunteers from a variety of careers to join us for this event! 

Whether you work in the trades, business, healthcare, the arts, STEM, retail or another sector, you have valuable experience and perspectives to share with students. 

You'll be based in a classroom and will have 30 minutes to share information about a day-in-the-life at your job, how you got to where you are today and tips on how students can pursue a career in your field. We encourage you to bring props and real-world examples to help bring your career to life. Your story may help a student discover a brand new career! 

The event time includes a short orientation before heading to your classrooms and a debrief with other volunteers after the event. 

All volunteers are welcome! To better reflect the students we serve, we particularly encourage people of color, Washburn alumni, community members who live or work in the Washburn community or have friends and family who attend Washburn, to apply.
