Erin (she/her) came to Achieve Twin Cities from Minneapolis College, where she served as a TRIO advisor in the Education Opportunity Center. In that role, Erin worked mainly with low-income and/or first-generation adult learners to help them navigate the college process.
Before her time at Minneapolis College, Erin had a robust career in marketing and publicity in book publishing, which included teaching an undergraduate course at the University of Minnesota. While she has always loved working with young people, it was an informational interview about Achieve Twin Cities several years ago that led her to pursue a career change.
Since then, Erin has immersed herself in the career and college readiness advising landscape, completing a graduate certificate in career and college counseling from the University of Memphis (which included a semester spent part-time in the Washburn career and college center) and becoming a National College Attainment Network Certified Advisor. She received her undergraduate degree in English, with a minor in theater, from the University of Missouri-Columbia.
In her free time, Erin enjoys spending time with her husband and two children, playing rec volleyball, and having her heart broken or buoyed by the various soccer teams she follows.
