Kong brings education experience as a paraprofessional and special education teacher, where he developed a strong interest in learning about his students' career and life paths. Becoming a career and college readiness coordinator at Achieve has allowed him to strengthen his passion for this work.
He also served eight years in the Army National Guard, receiving the rank of E-5 Sergeant while serving as a carpentry and masonry specialist. He also taught, trained and led soldiers through a variety of missions, including a deployment to Afghanistan. He hopes to bring his knowledge of the military to his advising practice with young people.
The first in his immediate family to receive a college degree, Kong graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Stout with a B.S. in psychology and a minor in performing arts. In his free time he enjoys playing volleyball, tennis, and hiking, and spending time with family playing board games and Nintendo Switch.
