Wajih provides vital support to Step Up employer partner companies to maximize summer internship opportunities. He brings to this position great passion for education and the opportunities that stem from it.
Wajih strives to work for the benefit of others and has focused his career within the humanitarian and education sectors, with experience in a non-governmental organization that provided service delivery and advocacy in Iraq and the Kurdish Region of Iraq. His work there was integral to the delivery of training and education, research, case management, mental health and psychosocial services, and legal and sheltering services. He also assisted in forming a working group to better support and provide services for vulnerable populations, including refugees and internally displaced persons.
Wajih holds a master of human rights degree from the Humphrey School of Public Affairs and a master’s degree in sociology, with a focus in qualitative research methods that include ethnography, participant observation, interviews, focus groups and content analysis.
His general interests are in human rights, sociology, online community formation and engagement, and world-building through writing and planning Dungeons & Dragons campaigns.
