Sam(he/him) started his career in youth development as a cross-country and track coach, specializing in distance running and javelin throwing.
Since then, he has focused on the upward trajectory of students into higher education, first as a College Possible coach at Central High School, then as a financial aid counselor with a focus on financial literacy at the Dougherty Family College in Minneapolis. He also helped with recruitment and retention services and co-chaired the college staff inclusion committee, where he helped draft equity and inclusion strategy for the admissions team.
Outside of work, Sam is an avid runner and writer. You’re most likely to see him jogging along the river or buried in a book at a coffee shop.
