Step Up mock interviews help Minneapolis youth gain new skills and confidence

In partnership with the City of Minneapolis, the annual Step Up mock interviews were back in person this year for the first time since the COVID-19 pandemic. We were thrilled to welcome new and returning community volunteers and Step Up youth participants back to the Minneapolis Convention Center for this annual event! 

Each spring, the mock interviews connect youth participants with volunteers for one-on-one coaching and support to practice their job interview skills in preparation for summer Step Up internships and other career opportunities. 

Each volunteer interviewed 3-5 young people and provided constructive feedback for strengthening their skills and professional presentation. Volunteers received an orientation and sample questions before the interviews.
