As students continue with remote classes during COVID-19, we’re adapting our programs to ensure that they continue receiving the personalized support they need to explore career and college opportunities and make a solid plan for life after high school. This includes our career exploration events, which connect students with local professionals and employers to learn about the wide variety of careers available in our community.
We're now seeking volunteers for ten virtual career panels in November and December, which will feature professionals from business, management, healthcare, technology, the arts, information systems, engineering, manufacturing, human services and many other fields.
As a career panelist, you will share your personal career journey and the skills and training required for your field, and also answer questions from students. You have tremendous experience and perspectives that can help students take the first step toward great careers or discover new fields.
Due to COVID-19, our panels will be pre-recorded and then shared with students from several high schools throughout the year. Filming will last 45 minutes, with 15 minutes on either end for check-in and debrief.
All volunteers are welcome. We especially encourage volunteers from diverse communities, MPS alumni and community members with personal connections to our schools.
Check out our events calendar for details on each opportunity. For more information, contact our career exposure coordinator Ashley Musana at amusana@achievempls.org.
